Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, the highlight being the greater flamingo, which migrate in large flocks.[1] Bundala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and redesignated to a national park on 4 January 1993.[2]also you can see crocadiles and elephants & forest birds

We were here the day the Covid-19 restrictions started, so we could not go inside the park, but our safari driver took us around roads bordering the national park. The wildlife was amazing, we saw lots of crocodiles, mongoose, water buffalo, different types of monkeys, hornbills, spoonbills, stalks, eagles, peacock and so many other types of bird life. if we are ever back we will definitely do a proper safari in the national park and visit the bird hides and visitor center.

Ussangoda National Park

Beach and beautiful nature.

Reviewed By Alu-Poo - Tissamaharama, Sri Lanka

Ussangoda has a beautiful landscape. A large flat area all in red which was one of the six airports of king Ravana. One can imagine how he took off there and flew over to India to steal princess Sita. The beach is also lovely with red and black cliffs, ending in a white sandy beach. Well worth a stop as it is not too far from the main road and the access road is pretty good (any car can go). There are a couple of stalls at the parking lot ot buy food. Even if it is a national park there is no ticket office or anything. One hour is enough for this visit.
