Mario's Italian Restaurant

This restaurant is top notch! The prices are reasonable but the quality of service, food, and wine served tonight exceeded expectations. Upon entry to the restaurant, the proprietor greeted us and made us feel welcomed. We were seated and our waiter, Jonathan, cane quickly to offer us the menus and wine list. His prompt, kind service continued throughout the night! The wine was wonderful - and the food exceptional. The salad with tomato vinaigrette was both tasty and unique. We tried not to fill up on bread but this was challenging as it was light, fresh and delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes and were particularly impressed with the Chicken Romano and the Seafood a la Mario. Our waiter took care all evening to take care of our needs without being heavy handed. We will go back!

My wife and I were excited about trying this restaurant after reading about its opening in our local paper. The restaurant is located in the Gresham Village shopping area on Old Jacksonville Road (FM 2493) just south of Loop 49 and just north of the Whataburger. Parking for this center is limited but we found a place to park on the grass. Don't let that deter you, there was plenty of seating available in the restaurant. We were warmly greeted and seated by Limi who also became our server for our meal. Learned that the restaurant is owned by his father, Benny. The restaurant was very comfortable, impeccably clean and nicely decorated. Limi was excellent as our server, attentive and friendly without being overbearing.Looking through the menu, the restaurant serves all types on pizza, pasta, sub sandwiches and their own special italian entrees that included chicken, beef or seafood. Prices were quite reasonable starting around $8.My wife opted for the Ziti Pomodoro with Chicken (tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil and sherry wine sauce with a touch of red over ziti pasta) and I opted for the Spaghetti Bella (clams, shrimp, sausage, black olives in a garlic and oil sauce served over spaghetti). Both were excellent, delicious and served piping hot along with fresh hot rolls from the kitchen. Portion size was perfect.Without hesitation, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It appeared to be very family friendly. No, the restaurant does not serve alcohol but does allow you to BYOB. We look forward to returning to try other menu items in the near future.

First time visit. Confusing on how to order. It took multiple attempts before I could convince them I hadn't ordered chicken on my wrap. Wife's pasta was cold. They acted aggravated when I ordered sides. Turns out that I should have asked the guy that got my wrap order wrong to order sides. Calamari is very good. Bisque was so thick the spoon stood up in it. Like the Italian drinks.

This is my second visit to Rotolo’s since living in Tyler. It’s got some great pizzas. I enjoy getting some of the more unusual varieties. This time I got the Maui Wowi, a fall pizza that was basically an upscale version of a Hawaiian pizza. All of my coworkers food looked incredible too!

We've been eating at Pit Stop since it opened. Our son had his birthday there when he was 4 or 5 and the kids made their own pizza! Food is good and the owner gives great customer service - knows most everyone by their first name. I've had the pizza of course but also the calzone, sub sandwich, chicken wings and spaghetti. All are very good. Salad bar is always fresh and very nice for such a small restaurant.
