Good As Expected, Fine As Always
Reviewed By Jun LIt has been years since my last review of this hotel. There has been new additions to the accommodation and lodging market in Catbalogan but Rolet Hotel is still the best choice. The hotel has been renovated, outside and inside. The rooms feature new cold/hot water showers, new air-conditioning units and better WiFi connectivity. There's still limited parking ( a very scarce commodity in Catbalogan ) but it has spaces in front to still squeeze several vehicles. There's JC Foodspot and Mayong across the street and the usual stores around. Still the best choice around.

Reviewed By sydneysteveThe van I traveled in from Borongan City comes in to the city directly past this hotel so I was able to be dropped off right in front. A bonus. I stayed in a single room which was small but it had a wardrobe, long bench, chair and good lighting. The aircon and TV worked well. The restaurant has an extensive menu but many items were unavailable. Service can be indifferent but this is commonplace around Samar. Lived up to my expectations of being one of the better choices here.

No frills hotel
Reviewed By Ismail AI came here after a long motorcycle ride from Allen. They were very nice and cordial. Room was clean. Nothing special. But I was so tired, they provided a safe and comfortable bed and nice place to shower

A good place to stay
Reviewed By AyeeBzCatbalogan is a small city in Samar, and we stayed there because we were traveling from North Samar to Eastern Samar. It was too far a trip, especially when commuting. We took advantage of the terminal that one of the vans provided, and so we found ourseves in Catbalogan. What I appreciate about Asia Novo is their spacious room, and despite being in the heart of the city, it's quiet. However, for those who have walking issues, it may be a bit of a challenge since their hotel lobby is located on the 2nd floor and then the rooms are even located on the higher floors with only stairs as access. They have no restaurant within the hotel, but it's a good thing that they are near fast-food chains like Mang Inasal, and Jollibee. They do sell water, and other snack items. All in all, Grand Novo Boutique Hotel is a good place to stay in, especially if you're moving from one destination to another. This is not a luxurious hotel for staycation but the hotel does its job as a good place to rest.

Eventually Good Value for Price Paid
Reviewed By spc354I was first checked into a "matrimonial room: on the first floor. It was a nightmare. Small, stinking, no wi-fi reception. I accepted room as the other choice was a 4th floor room with no elevators. I was also in a hurry for a meeting. Once I came back in the evening, I let the front desk know that the room was unacceptable, and I would move to another hotel. The lady at the reception then moved me to room #1 next to the reception. Slightly bigger, spotty wi-fi, but most importantly, no stinky smell. I stayed two nights. There was a local fiesta going on with lots of food, drinking dancing and public service programming going on all day to about midnight, just outside. There was noise, but it did not bother me. They allowed me to store my drinks in the reception area cooler, so I was happy.
