We stayed in room 211. This room is entered via an inside corridor that opens up by the pool so the door to the room is outside again. Het was very clean but the bathroom smelled a bit off when we opened that door but it went away after we used it. The mattrass is perfect if you like to sleep on a bed instead of in it; like I do. We got plenty of towels and little bottles with toileteries. The waterpressure in the shower could have been better but there was a curved shower rod. The breakfast is very well taking care of. Many choices of bread, cereal, waffles, yogurts, fruits, hot items, and kept stocked during breakfast as well. The overall service and feeling of this hotel is very good.

We stay here every spring and fall for the Crafty Chicks Road Show at the fairgrounds. We have used this motel for the past 4-5 years and have always had a great experience. One of the things we like is that there is ample parking for our cargo trailer that we bring for the show.

First off, I made a reservation months ago directly with the hotel. A while later I received a call that I was quoted the wrong price and it was going to be more. Because I had to have room I said okay. I felt this was not getting off to a good start. After a hot two and a half hour drive I arrived at the motel to check in. (Be careful entering and especially exiting). I was told "the boss" cancelled my room. The woman remembered talking to me and didn't know why he cancelled it. She pulled the reservation slip out and read the notes. So now I have my $50 event ticket thinking I will be sleep in my car. She says she can put me in the family room but will close off two beds. Then she said the TV doesn't work (it turns out the TV is fine but the Direct TV only wants to show advertising channels like Time Life music). I said fine. The WiFi works, right? She says, no not really, because of homeschooling kids (school is out in California and it was the weekend). Mind you, the two night cost is almost $200 with tax. The WiFi did occasionally connect. And then disconnect. My phone was on Edge and not much help (ATT). Thankfully I had my e-reader. I see the room. Small. A door to another room (the other beds?), small, especially the bathroom, but adequate. There is a coffeemaker (dust covered and an old coffee pod still in it), a small refrigerator and a small microwave. But the bed was comfortable and there is decent wood furnishings. This is a non-smoking establishment. All the rooms. With tables, chairs and ash trays right outside the doors. Fortunately, the smoke did not filter into my room. The ashtrays were full. I asked and was told they try to house smokers together. I don't recall being asked. The hot water faucet valve wouldn't stay on. But there was hot water and that was nice. It is a pretty quiet location. There is a grocery and pharmacy and food down the street. Be careful walking if you do. I was almost nailed in the crosswalk.

This is a well run timeshare with large, well-maintained (though older) units. Angels Camp and surrounding towns like Murphys date from gold rush days; they are small and not all that interesting, despite a proliferation of wineries and tasting rooms (most with not very good wines). Big Trees State Park is worth a visit, around half an hour's drive.

Shower backs up while you’re in it. Not very clean. Owner refused to let me show him my confirmation email of my booking because I didn’t have my ID. He kept telling me that someone could have sent that email to me (instead of looking that Expedia did send it to my email) and that it was my problem. Exactly what we wanted at 11pm after our friends wedding. After about 5 min, he then tell me my gf can use her ID. Why didn’t he say that in the beginning!!? So frustrating
