This First Nations Trail of more than 7 kilometers in length heading north, that Samuel de Champlain used in 1618 was originally set up and used by the First Nations for more than 10,000 years and ran from just above Little Lake near King Street river end, the next known location is on Brock St. where a First Nation person's body was uncovered, marked by a plaque, then in front of the Armoury building on Murray St. six more First Nation bodies were uncovered, up the hill following the highest points that the First Nations followed for security near Bethune St., across the Smith Town Hill House front lawn at 265 Edinburgh Street, then Braetop Cotage land at 274 Edinburgh Street, then Sage/Jewell house property along Stewart St./Chemong Rd. at the highest point of land just east of Chemong Road(following highest points, which farmhouses are set on East of and parallel to Chemong Road), Peterborough to the former Mud Lake in Bridgenorth, now called Chemong Lake, somewhere near Chemong Lodge through the now named Champlain Park (beside Chemong Rd. at Bridgenorth town limits) on Ward Street. This is just one of over a hundred trails across North America that Samuel de Champlain travelled on in his many years exploring Eastern Canada and he made maps of everywhere he travelled in North America.
