Lake of Isles

Reviewed By jktmrose - Connecticut, United States

I took my son golfing here for his birthday. We loved the course. The course was in perfect shape and green as could be. The service was great and we started our round as scheduled. There is a cooler on the cart and water is included with your round fee. We played from the more difficult gold tees for a challenge. The waterways and ravines are challenging and scenic and it makes you feel great when (if) your ball lands on the other side. The silver tees are more in line with my average skill but I would play the gold tees again. We had lunch at the clubhouse afterward. The food was great and we pulled pork and a lobster grilled cheese. For us this was a special occasion and we would come back again in the future.

Shennecossett Golf Course

Shennecossett is a historic 18-hole public golf course designed by Donald Ross. Located on beautiful Long Island Sound and the Thames River, the course features dramatic views and a chance to spot a tall ship or a US submarine at sail. Founded in 1898, Shennecossett remains a top New England golfing destination. Experience golf history - play Shennecossett.

Shennecossett is a great and challenging golf course. The clubhouse, restaurant and bar are a lot of fun. The food is great at Par 4, they have 100's of beers on tap and great views. I have read some negative reviews and can only say that the powers that be have decided to maintain everything in a traditional fashion. But, that being said if you didn't like it stay in Massachusetts and we'll be fine.Peace
