Located 53 km to the north of Almora, Kausani, is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular view of the Himalayas. Flanked by the rivers Kosi and Gomti, this small town sits atop the Pingnath Peak. Though Kausani is not as well known as any of the other hill stations, the area is full of deep and dense pine forest, tea gardens and affords a breath taking view of the Himalayan peaks of Trishul, Panchchuli and Nanda Devi. Major attractions around Kausani are the Temple town of Bageshwar situated at the confluence of the river Sarayu and Gomti, the Gandhi Ashram and the Rudradhari falls and caves.

It is a 1-1.5hr trek both ways. Not difficult trek at all. However, there may be a few leeches on the way. So wear good footwear. We went in Jul 2017, where there was no one else apart form our group. We entered the waterfalls near the temple and played around with the water!! Amazing view and a must-see spot

We just took a guide with us and thats really required thing as its totally Core Jungle Area and you must have someone to show you the root Our whole family Enjoyed the Tracking Experience. Must Visit Place if you are a nature Lover, You may have to cross the river almost 3-4 times to reach the place, but river doesnt have much water so no problem in crossing at all, your shoes will stay dry.

One of the most ancient temple North India and very different architecture and must see place in Kausani. Probably built in 9th century AD. Even though temple is so ancient no proper maintenance or restoration being done by Archaeological Survey of India.
