Went to the Grecian Diner on Saturday night for the first time. Found the place to be bright and clean, but not too crowded, with Greek music playing in the background. Ordered pastichio and my wife ordered Moussaka. Both were excellent and came with an authentic small greek salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions, peppers). We also ordered the saganaki appetizer and thought it was one of the best we've had. Our waiter brought over a sampler of two spreads for us to try on the rolls, which were excellent. Dessert was a Greek walnut cake, which we hadn't ordered but which the waiter insisted we try (without cost).Overall, we had a wonderful experience, enjoyed the food and the personal service. One of the few places in the area with authentic Greek food. Being Greek-American, I can be fussy with Greek food served at a restaurant but thoroughly enjoyed this place. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Can't wait to go back.

I have visited many breakfast places, but this spot is absolutely “Squared Away!” As soon as you walk, you quickly discern that this breakfast nook is all about the veteran experience. Patriotism is the order of the day…every day. A copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address are proudly displayed, along with many other veteran related symbols. But the main attraction is the “Wall of Honor.” On this wall, you will find the names of Wakefield's distinguished veterans who have proudly served in our armed forces. You might not know them personally, but the spirit of the “Chuck Wagon” radiates the essence of the armed forces, which everyone gets to feel when they enter this special place; even if you are not a veteran. Roberta was busy taking everyone's order and making them feel right at home. Her welcoming attitude will undoubtedly make you feel as if you have known her for years. You really don’t need a menu...just look at what everyone else is having and you will immediate say, “I’ll have what they are having.” Everything looks sooo…good! Their homemade corned beef hash is uniquely delicious; just ask anyone sitting near you. Buddy, Anthony, and Kevin work their culinary magic as hungry patrons watch what is going on in the kitchen. Don’t be surprised if Buddy comes out to chat with you and share the impressive history of the “Wall of Honor,” which also includes Michael Brant, his son who served with distinction in Korea and Iraq, along with other decorated veterans from WW II, (the European theatre), Korea, Viet Nam, and Iraq, etc. What a great way to eat your morning chow. I found myself quietly saluting my fellow veterans, both alive and passed. Wakefield is known as a "Purple Heart" community. This experience left me full of pride and great food (Americana). You can find “The Chuck Wagon” at 61 New Salem St., in Wakefield, MA 01880. Call them if you want to learn more @ 781.451.3988. Call them early because they don’t stay open all day. The Chuck Wagon also gives veterans a 10% discount. Hoorah!!!

Stopped at the Omelette Headquarters for breakfast on a Friday morning. This is an old place so don't expect things to look shiny and new. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt. My wife and I both ordered omelettes, of course, which came with American fries. They came quickly and were hugh. They were very tasty. For the price, this place is hard to beat.

Iron Town Diner

We were a party of one adult, two teens for lunch on a Wednesday. The wait was VERY VERY long. Once inside, the diner is surprising large with two rooms. However it is really crowded and very very noisy. This would not be a good place for anyone in a wheelchair as they would feel uncomfortable due to being jostled a lot, I suspect. Also, if you plan to meet someone to catch up, this is probably not conducive to talking as you have to shout to hear the other person. Food is excellent. Very large menu and a huge number of breakfast choices. Waitress was fantastic, although it took a while for our food to arrive. Decor and cleanliness was just fine. Overall an okay experience. We live in the area and have avoided trying this restaurant because the line is always about 20 people deep. We will most likely not return just due to the amount of waiting.

Clearly a place frequented by the locals as it was very busy Sunday late morning. Don’t be fooled by its location! The coffee and food was delicious. Lots of different breakfast choices. I didn’t even read the lunch menu. They bake their own muffins daily and make their own hot sauce too. It’s worth the wait. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again.
