Top 6 Cultural Tours in Male, Kaafu Atoll

October 31, 2021 Jacquiline Darosa

The island capital of the Maldives teems with high rises and narrow streets, all ringed by seawalls. Shopaholics can savor Male's flavors in the local markets, which are packed with fresh produce, and along Chaandanee Magu, the spot for local souvenirs, such as carved wooden dhonis, miniature replicas of the boats dotting area waters. The golden-domed Friday Mosque presides over the landscape, while the underwater riches of the atolls lure scuba enthusiasts from around the globe.

We took this tour before we left Maldives. We were able to check our bags at the airport and then get a taxi to the pick up point. The guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of both Male and the Maldives. We liked eating some of the local food, though we had been in Maldives for a week so had had some at the hotel. We did NOT like the art experience and would have preferred to do something else. They had us paint step by step a Maldives island. I don't need painting lessons and I don't need some small, not very good painting I made. A visit to another spot to learn more about history would have been preferred.

Though it is a late review, it is the one I just had to write as the experience was awesome. I visited sand bank and dolphin cruise with Mash from Secret Paradise. Maldives in itself is a beauty, sand banks are the most amazing thing one should definitely see while in Maldives. I was travelling alone with my daughter and Mash made it a wonderful memorable trip for the little one. Ruth from Secret paradise arranges all the activities and is very punctual and apt in replying to all your queries. During these pandemic times they are taking utmost care with very less group size for everyone/s safety which I loved.

He’s the only one who could get us through the 5-star resorts during the last minute. Our choice was between Club Med Kani and Adaaran Prestige Vadoo while the other agencies can only get us to 4-star ones. Impeccable communication and customer service too. Very detailed and very accurate. Best wishes to you. ????
