This restaurant (and hotel) really captures the character of the German countryside. It is a must stop place if you are any where near this area. The menu, food, service and atmosphere are all outstanding. Strongly recommend this quaint restaurant.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of German food. I really enjoyed the meal I had and the atmosphere it was served in. The staff was incredibly friendly and I immediatly felt like home. A really nice teracce is at your service!Definitly a recommendation for everybody who's visiting the region!

Cosy typical German restaurant. Nice food, reasonably priced and very friendly service. The menu has some typical Odenwald dishes. Portions are large.They have also have children menu's (approx. eur 6) and give crayons to draw. They have a monthly agenda with special grillbuffet in Beergarden, Oktoberfest, Beer & Dine etc. Check out their website. The terrace has a nice view on the palace. Many shops around.

The picturesque little town of Michelstadt in the Odenwald is remarkably well provided with restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. We liked the look of the Rathausbraeu. In keeping with the rest of the town it looked like a traditional German pub-restaurant. We sat down at one of the tables outside and were not disappointed. We had an excellent lunch there. The food is traditional German:we had a pork steak and a venison goulash and beer to drink. It was good value and service was good too. We would be happy to go back on a future visit.
