Manantler Craft Brewing Co.

Manantler Craft Brewing Co. is a small batch craft brewery located in historic downtown Bowmanville Ontario. The only thing that tops our love for drinking craft beer is our passion for making it. We have brewery tours every Sunday by appointment.

We spotted here on our way through town and were pleasantly surprised by their delicious brews. We loved the cappuccino red and bought a growler to take home. We also liked Buzz Light Beer. Monica was very friendly and answered all of our questions. There is also cards and games so nice for our kids

Tyrone Mills Limited - 1846

The Tyrone Mills Limited -1846 has been owned and operated by Robert Shafer over the last 30 years - but its history stretches back far greater than that! Over the last 168 years, the Tyrone Mills has been a grist mill, flour mill, lumber mill, apple cider producer, historic tour center, bakery, and rural community center. Today, it continues to preserve its traditional roots through continual use of its water power in lumber manufacturing and flour production. Open year-round, the mill offers visitors a chance to witness Canadian History and Culture in action. Each season of the year adds to the unique character to the mill. Whether it is drinking hot apple cider to chase away the winter chill, Rob Shafer working steadfast in the lumber yard in the spring, visitors enjoying a scenic walk along the dam in the summer, or shoppers enjoying our baking and festivities in the fall. The mill not only offers a range of quality products, but also a sense of community connection. If you have not yet had the chance to come visit - please do! And, for those of you who have - we look forward to welcoming you again soon. The Shafer family.

I grew up around here and would stop occasionally for homemade donuts on my way home. They are always a delicious treat. They sell a nice selection of baked goods. This is a working mill and they still make flour here, which you can purchase as well. Tyrone does a tractor parade before Christmas every year, which I think they're still doing, and it's always a tradition to go to the mill and get donuts and hot apple cider.

Cedar Park Resort

Reviewed By Laurenwelsh0611 - Bowmanville, Canada

We just returned from a three night stay and we loved every second of it. We originally were only planning on staying for two nights but my girls we're having such a great time. I actually have no complaints what so ever. Everything was clean and well maintained. The pools were a bit cold but once you get use to it - it is very refreshing. The waterslides were very good and a lot of fun for all ages. The lifeguards were very friendly and attentive. I heard a few parents complain that the swim test is harder than expected... but I rather it be harder than too easy and something happen. Snack bar menu is great! Ask for a kids cone because the serving is HUGE. Funnel cake was delicious and the poutine was loaded with cheese curds. My three year old loved the milkshakes Every staff member we met were very approachable and friendly. The park was quiet (possibly due to Covid restrictions) Large areas where kids can play and the playground was massive and suitable for kids of all ages. This was our first time in a trailer with our girls and we were hesistant but Cedar Park had raised the bar so high and we can't wait to come back again.

Watson Farm Market

Reviewed By CityGirl079 - Toronto, Canada

Another great annual trip to Watson's for Apple picking and pumpkin selection. Staff was friendly. Great selection of fresh farm produce however rather expensive. Good play area for children which included swings, giant slide, live animals and an old tractor to climb on. Admission is free which is fantastic, as is the tractor ride out to the apple orchard. $28 to fill your bag up as best you can. Pumpkins ranged in price from $0.50 (for the minis) to $12 for a pumpkin so big we needed a wheelbarrow to get it to the car. It was rather rainy so we went prepared wearing rain boots. Would highly recommend boots at any time. An annual must for us.
