We drove past this place and it looked so inviting we turned around and went back. Really glad we did. The visitors center has a great gift shop and some very impressive displays of the wildlife and the history of the area. The third floor is a really really good observation deck with some history displays. The center is free to visit. The y also have a set of hiking trails out through the wetlands surrounding the center that would be wonderful to go on when the weather is decent. This is well worth the detour to spend an hour or two on your way through the area.
