Petite carte mais de quoi trouver son bonheur. Entrées ok, choix de vin ok. Jusque là tout va bien . Mais ensuite nous avons pris les burgers et avons dû attendre 1h depuis la fin des entrées !!!!! Pourtant la terrasse est loin dâêtre énorme...!dieu merci ils étaient bons

I went for lunch while on a 1 1/2 hour lunch break. But even though we took the daily menu, the service took more time then that.

Busy restaurant/bar (you are best to reserve a table for lunch in advance) with a great list of available drinks and a limited food menu for lunch. Service is friendly and efficient. The food itself is presented nicely but the quality is more in line with an average pub. A good atmosphere makes this a great bar for a drink.

Yes, it's cheap. Compare it to "fine" burger restaurants in Switzerland like Holycow and others, the Café Populaire is cheap. On Monday and Tuesday evening, you get any meal for 13 CHF and a beer for 4 CHF. Otherwise the average price is 20 CHF for a great meal and a drink.Other than that, the service is really attentive and friendly. It's not high-class, it's friendly. Expect smiles, advice, suggestions.You'd better book in advance if you're planning lunch or dinner with more than one person.Sadly you have to pay with cash only. This is a very negative point in my opinion considering Fribourg is one of the rare places around Europe where you can't pay with a card in so many restaurants. I don't think there is any justification to this since business seems to roll for the Populaire. I hope to see this changed soon.Enjoy an amazing burger or sandwich at Café Populaire!

Here you can find the best quality/price brunch in town and probably also the longest drink list of Fribourg, with a many of the good italian Baladin craft beers, a lot of bottles from all over the world and also a good choice of wines and spirits. The staff is young, nice and informal as the overall atmosphere. I like a lot also the furniture. Stop by for a home made cold tea in a hot saturday afternoon, or for a beer after dinner, for a brunch of for lunch (I still haven't tried they're hambugers though).Merci beaucoup pour vos commentaires élogieux.En espérant que vous reviendrez goûter nos burgers faits maison , avec le pain et la viande préparés par nos artisans locaux ....
