Top 5 Wine Tours & Tastings in Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina

June 17, 2021 Kandra Bartel

Buenos Aires (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbwenos ˈaiɾes], Provincia de Buenos Aires; English: "good airs") is the largest and most populous Argentinian province. It takes the name from the city of Buenos Aires, which used to be part of the province and the provincial capital until it was federalized in 1880. Since then, in spite of bearing the same name, the province does not include the national capital city proper, though it does include all other localities of the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area surrounding it. The current capital of the province is the city of La Plata, founded in 1882.

The Staff was super efficient in communication in advance and made an effort to arrange things as good as possible. The estancia we visited was very beautiful, genuine and well-maintained. Everyone was kind and eager for us to have a great time. If you have horse riding skills, you can ask them to arrange a better horse to do some extra galloping around the fields. The horses are amazing! Juan, the “horse whisperer’, was like nothing I have ever seen before: complete control over a horse with just a gentle touch and his voice. Service and food were excellent, the estancia: a dream. I’m eager to go back and spend more time there. Asado was perfect, one of the best BBQ meals I had over 6 weeks traveling in Argentina. Highly recommend!

This is a very special experience; Santiago is an extremely knowledgeable, fun and professional guide who will show you the gaucho culture in San Antonio de Areca. Highlights on our trip included a tour of the town center as well a horseback ride and an Asado lunch on the estancia. Santiago will introduce you to local artisans and to the gauchos who have learned their skills from their families passed through generations. We highly recommend. It is so convenient to be picked up from your apartment or hotel in BA. The value is excellent. Be sure to bring your camera!

We did a 12 day customized trip in 2018. Found this company through Zicasso, Kieran was great arranging it all and communication was easy. Our trip started in Buenos Aires where we did a cooking class at the Argentine Experience and took a tango lesson. Our dance instructors took us out to a milongo afterwards and we ended up staying out until 2am. It was great! We felt completely immersed in the culture. We then flew to Iguazu and toured the jungle, got blasted by the falls in a boat ride and saw all the incredible creatures that live there. Our last 5 days were spent hiking in Patagonia where we trekked the Perito Moreno Glacier, visited a ranch, and then drove to El Chalten for the final days. All of our transportation was provided, all internal flights booked by Kieran, and everything was just wonderful. To this day, it’s one of my favorite vacations!
