The whole coffee process that is taught is by means of an artisanal form because it is a small farm that has been dedicated to coffee cultivation for more than 80 years, it is used to sow other products that grow in this area at the same time, such as fruit trees, ornamental and medicinal plants as well as other types of trees that provide shade and protection of water sources, an aspect that is our greatest interest, since the upper areas of San Miguel are characterized by being a source of water storage for the whole area of Greece by concentrating springs in its mountainous areas.

We white water rafted on a Pacuare River to get in and out of Pacuare Lodge. The scenery to the lodge is pretty but leaving the lodge is simply breathtaking!!! A must do!

This is the best experience of the combination with the natural landscape of the Poas Volcano National Park, and the whole process of coffee and the cultural interaction in Grecia and Sarchi. After visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch at Doka Estate we will stop to learn more about our golden bean, which is a term used to describe the unique and savory coffee of Costa Rica. Our third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America. Grecia is home to one of the only Metal Churches in Central America. The church is a national monument that fills its inhabitants with pride. Then shortly after visiting the metal church, in order to experience the local lifestyle, we will also visit the central market area, unique to the area. Excellent tour. Dani was a fantastic guide and we also had Juan Carlos as our driver. Dani explained everything in Spanish and English. We learned a lot about the Doka farm and bought some coffee for ourselves. We had plenty of time at the farm to walk around and enjoyed a really good breakfast. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the volcano crater as it was cloudy but we still enjoyed the experience. We read a lot of reviews before going and it seems like the bad weather is common and you have to be lucky to get the best views. I would advise this combo tour as then you get to see more things and avoid getting disappointed by going just to the volcano. We also loved La Paz Waterfall Gardens. We were not expecting it to be so beautiful and it took us a while to finish the hike as we were amazed by the landscape. There was a lot of variety of animals and plants. Animals are enclosed but they are rescued from illegal ownership and couldn't be released back to the wild. We recommend this tour if you are close to San Jose and want to do a whole day trip close by.
