Yeongju (Korean pronunciation: [jʌŋ.dʑu]) is a city in the far north region of North Gyeongsang province in South Korea, covering 668.84 km2 with a population of 113,930 people according to the 2008 census. The city borders Bonghwa county to the east, Danyang county of North Chungcheong province to the west, Andong city and Yecheon county to the south, and Yeongwol county of Gangwon province to the north.

It is worthwhile to climb the steps to pass the 4 gates to reach "paradise" or "heaven". This is one of the most revered landmarks in So. Korea. At the top is a beautiful temple with a golden Buddha. There are explanations in English about the history of the site and the temple. This is not an easy climb and not for the disabled in any way.

We visited the place without a guide and therefore walked around on our own there was enough explanation for us. The location is great set in the Mountains.

무섬마을 앞을 흐르는 내성천을 건너는 유일한 길이었던 외나무다리가 이제 전국적으로 명성을 얻고 있습니다. 물이 많을 때는 다리를 건너는 곳이 무서울 수 있습니다. 기와집이 즐비한 마을의 골목길을 걷는 것도 무척 즐겁습니다.

You can understand what is correct or great study.
Tske a deep breath at pond or bridge over river then imagine what the scholars did study and carried out what they learned.

영주시 풍기는 인삼으로 유명하다. 조선시대, 이곳에서 생산되는 질좋은 산삼은 나라에 공물로 바쳐야 했다. 그런 서민들의 애로를 해갈하기 위해서 당시의 현감이던 주세붕 선생이 나섰다. 그래서 오늘까지 그 명맥이 이어오고 있다. 소백산의 바람은 죽령고개에 몰려들고 화강암 지형은 삼이 생육하기에 최상의 조건을 만들어주었다. 이 박물관에서는 그에 대한 역사를 알게 해줄 것이다. 거기에 풍기에는 인삼을 파는 전문시장이 만들어져 있다. 한국은 '고려 인삼'으로 세계에 알려진 나라다. 질 좋은 인삼을 구입해가는 좋은 곳이 풍기다.
