Flag Rock Recreational Area

Had a celebration after a funeral in one of the rentable shelters. Liked it so much we are thinking of doing a family reunion here every other year.

Shelters including grills, electricity and a fireplace. Plenty of cover if it rains. Bathrooms a short walk away.

Good hiking trails and awesome overlook just beyond Woodburger.

Little Stony National Recreation Trail

Little Stony Falls offers great views that are easily accessible with a fairly easy walk. There are three major waterfalls that all offer stunning views as well as fishing and swimming areas. The trail totals 2.8 miles, and I highly recommend the whole trail, however the three waterfalls can be viewed in the first mile of the trail.

Central Drive-In

Central Drive-In offers a unique experience for those who have never been to a drive-in. It usually offers two movies at showing. They have a small concession stand that offers some pretty good food such as hot dogs, popcorn, etc. Very few drive-ins still around so I am glad this one continues to be open. Kids love it and it makes it easy on those who have a small child but still want to see a movie.

MountainRose Vineyard

Reviewed By Susan S - Buena Vista, Virginia

Beautiful vineyard and fantastic wines! Tour of vineyard was offered with a glass of wine in hand, and also a great country luncheon with homemade meatloaf, fried potatoes, soup beans, mac and cheese, and luscious cornbread muffins (not sure if that is always available as we were there on a special weekend), Opie and the owner spent lots of time talking with us, answering any questions and offering lots of history of the area.
