Granite Roots Brewing

Reviewed By Free655 - Dracut, United States

Legal reasons have caused the change in name. We always stop at breweries when they cross our path during our travels. This nano brewery I found to be one I'll return to whenever I'm passing thru greater Keene. In speaking with one of the owners, I was impressed with their controlled vision in an area that has become saturated with unknown long term results. GR has many styles in their offerings that are well crafted. They ask for your opinion so they know what works with their customer base. Although I'm not much for fruit in my beer, when done correctly which GR does, it is enjoyable. The tasting area has a welcoming feel located near the family farm with a relaxing seasonal beer garden. I wish Granite Roots success in hopes of returning for years to come.

East Hill Farm

Reviewed By mid214 - Chapel Hill, United States

There's something for everyone at East Hill Farm. Our 12 year old granddaughter spent the week happily swimming, riding Adam, a large pony, making new friends, reconnecting with last year's since we deliberately came back for the same week, painting, collecting tadpoles, collecting eggs, feeding the animals, and feeding herself. The food is fabulous and the portions are large, with a great variety of foods that should please the pickiest of eaters. Her grandfather and I also enjoyed long walks (bring mosquito repellant) and time to sit and read. A real luxury. Another luxury was a massage and reflexology session for me. We all loved the evening entertainments from contra dancing to horse racing to magic shows to bingo. And the highlight has to be attending a beautiful outdoors wedding where the seating was on haystacks covered with quilts. The staff are all consistently excellent - eager, informed, helpful and pleasant. When I said something negative about our bed, the mattress was replaced within the hour. What an amazing response. Halfway through the week, our granddaughter announced we were coming back next year. We've already reserved a place for the same week. If we didn't live so far away, we'd be back sooner. Thank you everyone!
