Ochiul Beiului Lake

It is a mystic place with a lot of stories. It is a natural beauty which is worthed to be visited . If you drive on an off road for about 5 km you can park near a camping place and from there you can hike for about 5 km on a spectacular forest path.

Rock Tunnels

Reviewed By Viorel_25 - Sibiu, Romania

A short but very intense trail, with smooth portions but also demanding (short) portions! The most interesting parts are those through which the road is dug in stone above the river where the route is parallel to the river and obviously the tunnels. The route takes about 45 minutes, from the suspension bridge to Podul Beiului and I think it is the shortest of the trails starting from Sasca Română. I recommend closing the trail (so as not to come on the same one) starting from Ochiul Beiului to Sasca Română over the hill bypassing the tunnels on top of that, a route (Red dot) that will take you through the forest. The trails are very well marked and maintained.

Beusnita Waterfall

This waterfall is bigger then Bigar waterfall and depend of the water quantity I believe is more beautiful. Also the trail is extraordinary...it is a very nice trip to this waterfall ...about 1 hour of hiking from the last parking place.

La Vaioaga Waterfall

Reviewed By fplalgo - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Located on the road leading to the Ochiul Beiului Lake, the highlight of the Cheile Nerei - Beușnița National Park, La Văioaga Waterfall is the ideal place to stop and rest for a little, watch the beauty of both the waterfall and the surroundings - trees, small crystal-clear lakes, rocks. We stopped here and ate the snacks we have brought with us. The waterfall can be reached via car, but the road from Podul Bei to it is bad and it's better - for both the sake of your car and for the views - to leave the car at Podul Bei and walk to the waterfall. It is a 40-50 minute hike on a very easy (since cars can also go) path. After it you can continue on the same road and in a bit over an hour you will reach Ochiul Beiului! No facilities available at La Văioaga, the closest toilets, drinks, food and camping are at the Valea Bei Trout Restaurant, which is approximately halfway between La Văioaga and Ochiul Beiului.
