Inasakan Beach

Reviewed By iwander4307 - Metro Manila, Philippines

Inasakan Beach may not be in most traveler's bucket list. And I'm not surprised. Going there by boat from San Jose takes you more than 2 hours and from P4,000 onwards depending on the type of boat you'd use. But as soon as you get to Inasakan Beach, you'd say this is paradise! Hey, they don't have anything here yet. And by that I mean, no stalls selling cocktails, no stores selling souvenirs. Nothing. But they have everything. And by that, I mean-- the powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters, that you could even see the orange and blue starfishes at the sand bed. Backpackers who know of this "secret paradise" are starting to come in droves. Better to come here with your own food because there's nothing to buy. If you're thirsty, they could only offer you fresh coconut that they would pick for you right from the source-- the coconut trees that abound in the area. Now is the best place to visit Inasakan Beach when it's not yet touristy and it's still in its pristine beauty.

Ilin Island

We made a side trip to Ilin Island proper during our recent visit to Mindoro and except for the church where healing priest Fr. Suarez used to do spiritual healings, there is nothing much to see. We were told that there are spiritual journeys during Lent going to this church but I think there are much better Islands in Mindoro than this one.

Manadi Island

Reviewed By Phuxx - Basel, Switzerland

Manadi white beach Islands, is 10min from the pier san jose by fisherboat. Go to the town After the bridge, then after the first markets right. All lot of fisherboats are there. If you be there people will ask, what do you then they give you a price.. Frist they want 2000peso for this realy short trip... For 650 peso per person you can go to Boracay...soooo it depends on your bargain skills... Price would be 500-1000 peso to get there. They ask when they get you back. There is a fee of course for staying on the Islands.. Soo they suck out money from tourist...they insist of 50peso per person....
So on the Islands is not much. For a short transit stay it is beautiful. Read, sleep, silence. Sand is corallsand not sugar withe sand. There are some threes, they give some shadow, otherwise there is nothing. Local people handout there and eat lunch. Met some very nice ones.
Been there for 6hours. I liked, beauce it is realy only 10min from san jose.

Grace Island

Reviewed By TravelBug1469 - Manila, Philippines

Grace Island Resort is an exclusive ancestral cove resort developed in an island about an hour of boat-ride off the coasts of San Jose Occidental Mindoro. A day tour package for group of 10-15 pax is worth 6k pesos which includes 2-way boat transfer, use of open cottage, and free use of non-motorized water rides. Various packages for overnight accommodation are also available. Included in our package were 2-way boat transfer, use of floating cottages, free use of non-motorized water rides and bikes plus 3 full meals. The food was superbly prepared and delightful to taste which includes an appetizer, 2 main courses, side dish, fresh fruits and drinks. Other amenities in the resort include beach volleyball, basketball court, strolling area, mini zoo, zip line, grill and videoke bar plus of course water sports activities like speed boating, para sailing, jet ski, banana boat, snorkeling, and diving, There was also a big function room for special occasions.
Due to remoteness of the area, electricity was provided by generating system from 6pm-6am only. Fresh water was being delivered by boat from nearby Islands or from Mainland San Jose. Cellular phone signal was poor and there was no wifi connection. Satellite TV was available though. Resort personnel and staff were 'stay-in' living in quarters designated for them. There was in-house pastor who performs morning and evening service for employees.
The place was well secured and peaceful; so quite at night. It is ideal for honeymooners and those who wanted to escape the busy life of the city. One will have unlimited privacy as long as desired. This being a cove, the sea water was very calm clear and clean. Fresh catch by fishermen can be bought and enjoyed fried or grilled.
Those who prefer day tour package, make sure to bring food and drinking water. Fresh fish and/or meat can be brought since free use of grill is available at the resort.

Aroma Beach

Reviewed By sulfate - Manila, Philippines

This was just a side trip to our San Jose visit (our main destination was Ambulong Island). There's not much to do in San Jose, so we just went strolling by the beach in front of our hotel right before sunset. You can choose any of the restaurants/bars right by the beach. But we opted for a more peaceful walk. We chanced upon an area right in front of Aroma Family Center and Resort. There's an area where you can sit and just watch the local kids play. And the sunset! It was such a sight. The orange sky at dusk was just perfect :) Recommended if you've got extra time to spare. It's really close to the airport so it's perfect for a quickie sidetrip :)
