Top 5 Things to do in Sakinaka, Maharashtra

February 23, 2022 Franklyn Hardiman

Though Mumbai can feel chaotic and crowded, there are peaceful moments to be found here. Nibble a paper cone of bhelpuri while you stroll the sands of Chowpatty Beach. Then, take a short walk to Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, strategized, and was ultimately arrested. The markets are spirited places to bargain for spices or souvenirs. Take a guided tour of Dharavi – made famous by "Slumdog Millionaire" – for an eye-opening glimpse into what Mumbai life is like for nearly a million people.

Tattva spa is situated on the 7th floor of the Holiday Inn hotel at Saki Naka. It's a great place to get away from the madness of Mumbai and pamper yourself to one of their relaxing spa experiences. My husband and I opted for the vanilla and nutmeg body polish (a 45 minute treatment) which is a combination of a massage and an exfoliating scrub. The staff were extremely nice and professional and took excellent care of us. The place itself is very clean and quiet. At the end of our session, we felt super relaxed as we sipped on our herbal tea. We highly recommend the place if you want to experience luxurious spa treatment in Mumbai.

The first art decco building of Mumbai built in early 1930s, it still retains its charm. In age of multiplexes going to theater like these is a different experience all together. Tickets are cheap as are the snacks like popcorn, burgers and frankies. The screen is wide and seating is comfortable. Do go once to relive the old golden era.
