We enjoyed a two night stay at this little lake right in town. It was warm enough to get in the water to cool off -- lots of people had small kayaks, canoes, rafts and pedal boats along with other flotation devices. The campsites along the water are terrific - you can walk right into the water from you campsite. This is well-located -- just a short drive gets you to a very nice grocery store, the charming downtown area and plenty of other area attractions.

A pilgrimage of sorts (we were in the region) to the Philo Farnsworth exhibit in the Jefferson County Historical Museum aka The Farnsworth TV & Pioneer Museum. Mr. Farnsworth was an amazingly talented electronics inventor and developer - a child prodigy and genius - well known to electrical engineers of my generation and maybe others too. We arrived to find the museum closed and a notice stating the museum could no longer maintain regular hours, and to phone the curator for entry. We did, left a message, he responded soon after and we arranged to join a Cub Scout group later that day. Our guide, not the curator but an associate, was wonderful - very informative about Mr Farnsworth's life, and accommodating too (he let us into the wonderful Farnsworth exhibit room). We didn't have a chance to tour the rest of the museum - the Cub Scouts had left and it was time to go. We left after purchasing a Philo Farnsworth t-shirt and his biography written by his wife. Treasures. Thank you very much for this once in a lifetime experience.
