Royal Tombs of Selca e Poshtme

Reviewed By Tuqe - Tirana, Albania

The way going in Selca it's an adventure it selves. Especially the road to the village which is continuing and narrowing beside a very secondary mountain road in Albania.
Tombs are magnificent and show a part of an impressive civilization of Pelion an Illyrian city dates to century III BC. Tombs are monumental and are building in the side of the rooks of the mountain.
Difficult stand for all the tombs and ruins there as obviously can see total no care at all. A Shepard tries to protect something and mostly play the guide which is so naive an unproductive. It shows to the other hands how less value such an incredible monument has in Albania. It's a very deep pain inside when you live from this place about such irresponsibility..

Golik Bridge

Reviewed By Tuqe - Tirana, Albania

The bridge position immediately after village Golik in direction of Proptisht village on the valley of river Shkumbini. Its attractive place and a visit at this bridge can be arranged with a visit in Royal Tombs of Selca e Poshtme.
Bridge is build at XVII, but the archeologists are strongly supporting the idea of a rebuild of the bridge in the ruins of an other bridge of IV BC. At this Roman Empire time this bridge has been part of Egnatia road and connects Lychnidas (today Ohrid) with Scampa (today Elbasan) and Claudiana (today Peqin) in direction of Durrahum (today Durres). Than the connection with Italy is closer as in any another places.
Actually bridge is well protected not because an extra care or investment, but because a very solid build centuries ago. It’s still actually in use and many times are also in the feet of the bridge fishermen’s. The water of the river is not deep in this part of the run. Excellent place for picnics and interesting for people curious in ancients ruins.

It's a hill near by and the city Pogradec lies in the fits of it. Great for climbing and hiking. It not takes more than 20 min get at the top. The view of the city spectacular. Such a place can not often more as a green field on and it's a good place for picnics as well. The ruins of the ancient castle are almost disappearing. Only to the left side are few walls which it doest shows much from the last. Shames see these place abandonees in such a way...
Recommended for the view of the city and the lake from the top of the hill.
