What an awesome trip thru the Loop! You are right in the middle of the rock formations and they are up close and spectacular. Take the hour or less to make the loop but make sure the driver keeps their eye on the road! We went in the south entrance and then headed back south towards Vernal and the scenery is just awesome. Take the time to make this loop and you won't be disappointed.

We were pleasantly surprised at the majesty of the area. We drove down from Rock Springs WY on the east side of the gorge and found ourselves stopping a half dozen times to take photos and enjoy the scenery but it really doesn't get 'good' until you get down to the dam area. We went to the visitor center and spoke to the friendly and informative rangers and took the sheep creek loop that was just jaw-dropping spectacular--and we were the only ones out there! Very glad we took the time to drive the loop.
