This is a very nice place to visit in Heppenheim. I stayed there for 3 days and walked through those houses. By the time I have been there, nit many people were around. All locals. Although it is a small town, people don't say hi to each other much. That was weird.
But over all nice small town to visit.

Imagine yourself a thousand years back when this fortress was built. Overlooking the "Bergstrasse" the view is endless... The museum is open only till 2pm, so be early! The last 500m one has to walk up, as privat cars are supposed to be parked below the castle. Handicaped, elderly and those travelling on official business though can drive the serpentine all the way up the the Castles restaurant "Burgschenke".

Das Viniversum ist sehr modern und informativ eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich in den sehr attraktiven Räumlichkeiten sehr wohl und wird ausführlich über die Weine der Bergstraße informiert. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und fachlich versiert so, dass mir alle meine Fragen zu meiner vollen Zufriedenheit beantwortet wurden.
Ich kann einen Besuch dieser tollen Adresse jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen und bin mir sicher, dass es niemand bereuen wird.
Im übrigen schmecken die Weine hervorragend und bestehen jeden Verlgeich mit allen anderen Weinbauregionen. Mein Tipp: Einfach ausprobieren!

This is a very pleasant way to savor a little of the flavor of the Steinkopf vineyards. Any month of the year, people will be working in their plots. In the summer, nothing is finer than leaning against a sun-warmed brick wall of a stone hut, sipping wine from the surrounding hillside. The walk features a self-triggered cam that posts your photo on the Web. Explanatory signs describe the grape varieties and dispense other knowledge about the development of wine in the region. Wonderful views, especially to the north and toward Starkenburg, the castle.

Loved seeing all the different birds. An excellent variety. However, the place feels a bit neglected, old and broken down. The birds mostly seemed healthy, but the place was a bit depressing. I still recommend it for the wonderful variety of birds that one can see there.
