We got the privilege to enjoy some time at Chico Hot Springs on our Griswold 2016 trip. Little did we know there was a PAC at Chico. This amazing company run by Sarah and her husband are your best best to raft the Yellowstone from Livingston to the North Entrance of Yellowstone.
Sarah was awesome and welcomed us. Got us signed up and hooked us up with Sean for the rafting trip. My autistic 11 year old son went with me while my younger son and wife went on the relaxing float.
Safety was a huge thing and I felt very comfortable with the rafting trip for me and my son. Seans insight to rafting and the local area made the trip all the more enjoyable.
Stop in and see the crew either in Chico or Gardiner. Don't forget to sign Lightening the bus.

My 12 year-old granddaughter was captivated by the horses at the Smith Family Ranch in Emigrant, Montana, where we rented the guest cabin, and expressed a desire to go horseback riding, which she had never done before. The Smith spread is a working horse ranch and had no facilities to accommodate guest riders. But our host recommended the nearby Stermitz Ranch, which offers horseback rides under its concession name Wilderness Connection. So I made reservations for my granddaughter and her mom. They were delighted to ride in such beautiful mountain surroundings - it was a highlight of our trip. Guides Emily and Katie took them high up in the mountains. They were very friendly and helpful. Emily in particular took my granddaughter under her wing, befriending her and offering lots of good tips, which she appreciated. It was a wonderful experience for mother and daughter - both were grinning ear to ear on their return. Looking at the photos, my granddaughter keeps saying how much she enjoyed her memorable ride in such spectacular country.

Not much to say. It's an arch without much going for it save the name it has been given. Like most people, we took photographs but having returned home they've now been deleted.

Beaver Ponds Loop is a 5 mi/8.3 km moderately-rated hike. The trail starts from the Lower Terraces, climbs up to beaver ponds and into Montana, and descends down to Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel.
My husband and I did this hike on a Saturday morning (9am) in August. To our surprise, the trail was busy, and we didn't see a lot of wildlife at the beaver ponds, which was disappointing. Highlight of the trail was the Montana portion, which had a beautiful panoramic view (see photo).

We went to the visitor's center at the north entrance and were SO taken away by the setting, the interior and the museum inside. You MUST visit this site, even if you have already been in other YNP visitor's center.
This location is at the center of what WAS Fort Yellowstone. It is amazing to drive by all of the buildings that are restored and make up this complex. The most intriguing is the Albright Visitor's Center. There is a deep stone porch across the front with seating. Inside is an information area, a gift store, exhibits, and rest rooms are located downstairs.
Take a minute to familiarize yourself with all that the building offers now and to take in the architecture which has been so well preserved. Thank you National Park Service.
Parking is available on street in the areas around the visitors center. Pedestrian crossings are very well marked and pedestrians are respected. We saw a lot of elk here one evening. They were liking to lounge on the green lawns! That was an extra perk. Rangers were stationed nearby for protection of both animals and humans.
