Molltaler Gletscher

It was my firts visit, not only in this resort, but in Alps, so I might be a but overpositive, but I have skied for my whole life, so I can compare objectively :) I was visiting between 13-19.1.2020 which is not the highest season. Therefore the number of people was minimal, there was maybe 5-10 people skiing in one piste at a time, in rare case of some group, it could be up to 20. On a whole piste. You can imagin, it looked empty. The same with the queues on the lifts. There were none. If there was 10 people in front of me once or twice, I just decided to go to the other lift with no one. It was a dream. Pistes were broomed flat and they stayed like that for a whole day. Only a few places which were steeper was a little damaged, but still in great condition. I was lucky to have 4 days excellent weather, the other two it was snowing with strong wind, so not very great for skiing. There are multiple choices of difficulty and directions, so you will never be bored with the same piste. In the upper station of gondola (cabin lift), there is huge self service restaurant with plenty of seating, including some places on terrase, so even during the lunch, there is always place to sit. Some official freeride tracks are also marked with poles, so you will not get lost and can enjoy some more adrenaline, if you are up to it. Also do not forget to walk few meters up to the Shareck top for the amazing view to the both sides of the mountains. Generally, I was very satisfied and will come back, if there will be an opportunity again.

It was definitely worth climbing the 300+ stairs. A truly unique experience. The views, the sound of the running water, the stairs - all made for a special kind of trip.
