Peach Park

We were passing through on the interstate and decided to stop at this locally famous spot. This area is known for its' peaches and there are apparently several fruit stands that cater to peach lovers. Well we arrived on their last day before closing for the off season, pure luck! Obviously being out of season they didn't have any fresh peaches but we did try their delicious peach ice cream,it's worth the stop if you're an ice cream lover like myself. They did have a nice selection of jams, jellies and ciders so we picked a few items to give as gifts. Of course we'll keep some peach butter for ourselves. The little garden out back was kind of cute but could use some work, then again being the beginning of winter many of the plants didn't look so good. Worth a stop if you're traveling on the interstate and want a snack, some local products or maybe a bathroom break!

Durbin Farms Market

Stopped here after seeing a few signs along I-65. Very charming market. Made a few purchased. Peach Cider! YUM! I also purchased Scuppernong and Muscadine Cider as gifts. The best parts about this stop was stocking up on the road trip treats: the kettle corn and the peach ice cream! PEACH. ICE.CREAM!! SUPER YUM!!! The market and the ice-cream clerk were very nice. It was very busy on the Sufday afternoon we stopped. There was a steady stream of people. Make this a quick stop, you won't regret it.

Clanton Peach Water Tower

This would have to be one of the best water towers that has been made to look like something/an object that I have seen. The shape and the paint job are excellent. Clanton should be proud!!!
It is actually located at 86 Peach Tower Rd but you can also see it from the vacant lot at 2795 Lay Dam Rd or from Headley's Big Peach farmer's market next door at 2675 Lay Dam Rd, Clanton. Don't look for it on 7th Street South as it isn't there.

This store is so cool. Some of the booths are like walking through Pintrest! They sell everything from handmade candles to pens made out of wood to antique furniture. Every booth has something to make you say "wow!" You can walk around the entire store and not get bored. This is definitely not a thrift store full of yard sale items. It was so clean and smelled really good. AND, they gave me a free cup of Keurig coffee! The staff was friendly and very helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Nice site, one monument, nothing else- but it's a historical spot in the history of gospel and American music.
