Playa Uricao

When you get to the town of Choroni, ask the posada to hire a "piragua", a boat to take you to Uricao beach. It's a 20 minutes ride alongside the coast before reaching this wonderful beach, with the intense green of the forest behind, a nice strip of sand and the blue waters of the caribbean just for you. Be sure to ask the boat driver to pick up before 4 pm, before the tide gets too high. Need to take everything, from umbrella to snacks and drinks, as there are no services on the beach. All of this can be supplied by the lodge (posada) you are likely to be in.

Playa Ensenada de Tuja

If you want to spend your holidays peacefully without tourist rush around you, than this small city is the right destination for you, because beach is great. Maybe the sand is not the whitest, but waves are playful! Feel free to take your hammock, because there are palm trees where you can hide from the sun and enjoy the swing. Locals are friendly, at least thats what we felt, because we don't speak Spanish. Therefore I am writing this review, because just realised that nobody gave their opinion in English. Also, we didn't meet any foreigners there, only local tourists. Remember to have enough of cash, as exchange is pretty expensive there!
There are some fish restaurants right next to the beach. We rented an ice box from our hotel and had our own drinks for the whole day.
If you are looking for a crazy nightlife, than this beach/city is not for you, but if you travel with a family and kids, looking for some "island of peace" for few days, than thats the place.

Very neat beach. Highly recommend. It isn't that far from the capital and the journey there wasn't rough. The workers there are nice and attentive.

Playa de Cuyagua

Reviewed By FuchoMendoza - Maracay, Venezuela
