My brother-in-law used to drive for Carolina Freight and went to take a look. Small but nicely done. There is a short film, the truck gallery and the old gas station where the business started out. Many model trucks in one of the rooms. They have restrooms and a small gift shop. Admission is free but donations welcome.

Maria H. Cloninger Rail Trail

Nice paved trail, 1.6 miles one way, so it makes for a nice walk if you go both ways. The trail passes below the streets in the center of downtown Lincolnton providing a unique view of the town. It's also very convenient to if you'd like to take a detour and walk the sidewalks of the town for a while and do a little window shopping or get a bite to eat. The best place to park is at the north end of the trail along N. Aspen St. in the City Park parking lot. There are restrooms available in this location.

Deer Brook Golf Course

Eighteen-hole, par 72 golf course measures 6,911 yards from the championship tees with a rating of 73.4.

This is the best golf course in Cleveland County. Greens are in good shape and very fast. The course is always in good shape and has a good variety of holes. The course is a good challenge for the average golfer without being overwhelming. Some holes are really tough and tight others are pretty wide open. Fun to play and rates are never more than $40
