We were all excited to see the Tibbetts Point Lighthouse. What we didn't expect is that the road was graveled for more than 2 miles! We had to drive slowly. I saw some neat things on the lake and was amazed that the houses on that 2 mile trek were quite opulent. Many had their drive asphalted.
We arrived finally to our destination. There was a parking lot and immediately I went to the souvenir shop to climb the lighthouse. "Sorry. No one can go up there." She was right. We could peek in the lighthouse to see the beginning of the stairs, but no one could go up. It was locked up solidly.
We went to see the fog horn and it sounded every 5 minutes. There was an interesting fact. The longest time that fog was signaled, was in 1913 with 300 hours, 1 days and 30 seconds. Anyone nearby the horn must have become deaf!
Truly this lighthouse is beautiful. Sad though that no one can go up any longer. Oh well! We enjoyed ourselves there anyway! It was worthwhile!
Oh no! I have to drive back another two miles on gravel again!

We saw the invitation to the weekend event and decided to visit. This is an awesome winery. We were greeted by staff in the tasting room and we tried every type. The staff was great and very informative. It made the tasting that much better. We loved the wine. We then visited all the booths outside. Between the alpaca petting area and the craft tents, we had a wonderful visit. It didn't hurt that we ended up taking a lot of wine home.

We chose this place because it was the only place still available at the last minute that was on the water in the Thousand Islands Region. It was a very nice place to stay given the following:
(1) Beautiful waterfront campsites and views. Even if you weren't doing tent camping, which provided you with the sites right on the water, you could still see the river.
(2) Quiet. This was the quietest campsite I've ever stayed at because it is so small. It is a little out of the way and doesn't really cater to families so there aren't tons of people here. I actually took my air mattress out of my tent and just slept by the water when I felt like taking a nap.
Now, why wouldn't you want to stay here?
(1) You have kids. There is one "playground" area which is kind of old and beat-up. There is nothing else really to do around the campsite or at the campsite.
(2) You need more access to stuff. We were a bit of a drive from stores and attractions. Not only that but we had come back from doing something and stopped at the camp office before five (to buy ice/wood---we figure we'd support the park) only to find that they were already closed for the day.
Bottom line? This is a place for those who just want the peace and quiet of being out by the St. Lawrence River. If you have everything you need with you on hand and don't plan on running around to different places all day, this is the spot for you.

Located on an island you can only visit this lighthouse park by boat (private boat or Clayton Island Tour Boats). Well maintained docks, grounds, picnic tables, museum & lighthouse. The view from the top of the 30 foot lighthouse is well worth the climb. A fun place to make happy memories.

We have been frequent camper for over 30 years and this was probably one of the worst camping trips ever. The site was very small and and no water or electric which we are fine with. We camped in a 34 ft trailer and rented a second adjoining site for a tent. After set up we went for a walk and returned to find our tent site was filled with cars from nearby campers who could find no other place to park. They parked right atop of our tent stakes . We had to ask them to move so we could set up our chairs around our fire pit. As the night went on the campers on one side of us got into a fist fight, on the other side of us was very foul language and conversation so loud and inappropriate that I made our younger kids go into camper..noise went til 430 am. Next day we went to explore and came back to find a water hose stretched through our site over our picnic setting and had tore off the rain fly of the tent( the party down the hill was apparently filling their water tank from a spare water spigot two roads away) again a truck parked on our site had to ask to move so we could park our truck on our site. We had a constant flow of people walking right through our site . Reported this to park ranger who went and talked with the offenders and said they would be ticketed if it continued. He also admitted that this park is out of control with rude roudy people. He did his best to monitor them but they were aware his shift ended at midnight and that is when they got super loud. Also very heavy tick population. During our three day stay we found over 60 ticks on our clothing dispite spraying . On a good note the scenery was beautiful. The beach and boat dock we're closed due to high water but the kids had fun on playground, do not advise leaving g kids alone as one little girl who looked about 7 had her arm grabbed and pulled by a strange man who then got into a truck and promptly drove off when confronted. Also roudy teens on playground. Great place to ride bikes. Would go back to visit but will never come there again.
