I can’t really add to the volumes that have been written about Barnbougle, suffice to say, if you haven’t done it, then do it

Lost Farm Barnbougle Golf Course

The Lost Farm is an amazing setup on the Barnbougle Golf Course. The most spectacular view in Tasmania without a doubt with sweeping ocean views and great shots of several holes on the links course. A must visit to any person touring Tasmania. Golf enthusiasts love it. Comes at a cost but when you get there you know why.

Bridport Walking Track

The Bridport Walking Track is a circuit, multinature walk that links the foreshore, beaches, the Wildflower Reserve, grasslands, ancient forests and the Brid River. The walk is within close proximity to the village of Bridport thereby creating a single accessible and unique walking experience of significant natural beauty. This is a special unforgettable place for all to experience.

Starting with the 1-hour return pretty flat foreshore walk - really beautiful and plenty of rest spots and restrooms. Every day of the four we stayed, Bridport just kept on getting better! It has plenty of dining options, including buy some local scallops and cook your own. We can recommend the Bunker bistro, attached to the RSL, but check as it’s not open every night. Good coverage for Telstra and Optus and TV is good also. Plenty of local supermarkets (IGA), good price petrol, newsagent, bottle shop, wonderful wineries such as Piper’s Brook 20 mins away, and even a bakery (closed Monday) all within an hour of Launceston. Great views, walks, swimming (December), camping spots and lots and lots of air-bnbs, stayz etc. Unfortunately, this is the one area our group – 3 couples who each booked somewhere independently – agree, the accommodation is not 100% what you would expect from the advertising or the price, so beware! I must add that we were there for a boys’ golf trip, so better mention the golf! Plenty of courses nearby, from the Bridport public course to the two at Barnbougle, to another one at Tomahawk. The boys report they are all excellent. Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm links are very special, and you do need to book ahead as it’s very popular and well worth the planning.
