Fontana Trekking

We had a spectacular time horse trekking through Custonaci!! There is nothing like Sicilian hospitality. Everything was perfect! Pietro, Pino, and the team were fantastic hosts. It was obvious that they love and care for their animals and their guests, and love what they do. Along with our 4-5 hour ride, they provided us with lunch, an outdoor museum tour, a beach stop, and finished off the ride with the best cannoli we have ever had! I would recommend this for experienced riders, or beginners for a unique experience exploring Sicily's countryside. It really was above and beyond our expectations. We will absolutely be riding with Fontana Trekking again! Thank you so much for a wonderful journey.

If you love mountain walks, you must visit this nature reserve. The paths that cross Mount Cofàno, bringing you from one side to the other, will give you wonderful views. You can spend hours walking in the peaceful and regenerating silence of nature and you can see the Tonnara Tower, a piece of history. An experience that I did alone, walking for over 4 hours: unforgettable.

Extraordinary open-air museum, where the tools of the trades of the distant past are exhibited, which took place in these houses built under the vaults of the rocks, whose caverns were inhabited since the Upper Paleolithic. An enchanting place out of time, where the living nativity scene is set up at Christmas.

Baia Cornino

Lovely local beach nestled between Monte Cofano and the coast further south. We were staying in an airbnb in Valderice and this was the best of the "local" beaches to visit. This beach was sandy by the shore but then quite pebbly going in and rocky as you're in. However, it didn't bother us as all the other beaches we went to this trip were sandy. We had a relaxing afternoon just floating in the shallow waves as our toddlers played with the sand in the shade. We would have come again if we had stayed longer in the area. Only €1 parking a 1 minute walk away for the 6ish hours.
