Warwick Drive-In Movie Theater

Reviewed By mashort07 - Lincoln Park, United States

In a day and age where going to the movies is becoming a more expensive and luxurious experience, this enduring and rare piece of old school Americana brings the simplicity and nostalgia back to the movie industry. The staff is very organized, making both the purchasing of tickets and the process of parking quick and seamless. I'd recommend getting there about an hour early to ensure plenty of time to get a good spot, hit the snack bar and use the restrooms if needed. My wife and I were situated in the first row (which isn't a travesty at a drive-in theater!) and watched from the front seats of our car while tuned in through the car radio. If you're planning on seeing the double feature, the price of tickets absolutely can't be beaten. We actually ended up spending more money on food than we did on the tickets and we were lucky enough to see two excellent movies. All in all we spent maybe 5 or 6 hours at the theater. Though I'm too young to have been around for the height of the drive-in movie business, I have to imagine that this would be a like trip back in time for people of a certain age. It fulfilled my every expectation and I'm looking forward to going back again soon.

Masker Orchards

Visited my son in New Jersey and he took me to Masker Orchard in Warwick for apple picking. I live in Washington, the apple capital of the US but haven’t gone apple picking yet. I get my apples from the store :) The orchard is huge! On entry they provide 4 bags. $29.95/full bag. The bag has a map of where to find the apple trees. All trees were marked. So many apple trees! We picked half a bag—empire, red delicious and McIntosh combined. We didn’t make it to the Cortlands and Mutsu. Paid $15 for fresh good apples! That’s a great price! And the valley was just so beautiful! Walking between the trees-have to watch out bec it was muddy on some areas. They have apple cider too and we bought one home. My son and I enjoyed our time @ Masker. I’ve been eating the apples. And they’re great w smoothies too.
