Reviews on Steakhouse food in Hercules, California, United States. Hercules is a city in western Contra Costa County, California. Situated along the coast of San Pablo Bay, it is located in the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Berkeley, California. As of 2010, its population was 24,060, according to the United States Census Bureau. The site of Hercules was first developed in 1881 as a manufacturing facility of the California Powder Works for the production of its patented dynamite formulation, Hercules powder. In 1882, the Hercules Powder Company was incorporated and assumed responsibility for the Hercules site. It was one of several explosive manufacturers that were active along the Pinole shoreline in the late 19th to the mid-20th century. The small company town that grew up near the facility subsequently became known as "Hercules", and was incorporated at the end of 1900. Starting in the 1970s, Hercules was heavily redeveloped as suburban bedroom community that lies along the I-80 corridor in Eastern Contra Costa County. It has a very ethnically diverse population.

Located in a new strip mall, La Lupita is very new and clean looking with interesting wall art. The staff is very friendly and solicitous. However, the food was not very good. (Maybe because it was a Sunday evening.) When evaluating Mexican food, the "gold standard" for my wife and myself is carnitas. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos and I ordered the carnitas super burrito. Unfortunately, the carnitas were dry and tasteless. Interestingly, on the wall were taped pieces of paper and a white board with East Indian food items listed. Apparently, there is an East Indian connection to this restaurant, but we could not find out due to the language issue. We will not return.

Our five years old daughter decided to eat at Sizzler for her birthday instead of having a party, the only issue was that it was on Easter Sunday, and sure enough it was busy but the line was moving fast, so we decided to stay, and it was worth to wait and to stay, because they keep us amazing us with new dishes, every time we enjoy lunch or dinner at this location!Well, this time besides the different salads from the salad bar, I enjoyed the new "Mango/Jicama" salad which has a spicy kick but refreshing and unique, and the beans salad was great as well!We enjoyed a very nice dinner, even though our daughter didn't let us tell our waitress it was her birthday so they could sing for her and brought her the elegant ice cream on a wine glass, like he did to the birthday lady on the next table!

5. Somewhere Else Sports Bar and Grill
Down home style bar and grill. Nice people, friendly atmosphere. It is a great neighborhood spot and you can meet and chat with people very easily.

The restaurant has free parking. It is a sports bar atmosphere with televisions throughout the restaurant. They have full bar service. The service was friendly and excellent. The food was very tasty and good sized for a reasonable price.
