It is the busiest summer resort in Lithuania and has beaches of sand (18 km long and up to 300 m wide) and sand dunes. The museum is established in the villa "Anapilis" (after-life), which was built at the end of the nineteenth century, it is deemed to be one of the first villas that belonged to the count Tyszkiewicz. The museum is famous for its cultural activities. In 2019, it launched a permanent exhibition, which presents Palanga region, its history, and the unique personalities in a modern way.
