I've eaten here many times or just stopped in for a great cocktail or glass of wine with a friend. In spring and summer the back yard garden is just lovely. The inside also has a nice ambiance. The food is really great especially all of their appetizers, those are my favorites

... when the only negative comment I have is "they need to have black napkins at La Barra," then you know you're in luck. This review is about LA BARRA, the full-service tapas bar. We live in Washington, DC, and are major fans of José Andrés' food and philanthropy, so visiting Mercado Little Spain was high on our NYC list. It was around 5pm when we got there so it made sense to focus on tapas. As it turns out, that was a genius decision. First, there's a gin and tonic festival, and it was a pleasure to have the distinctly delicious Ultimate. Second, even as a pescatarian I was in heaven. Here's what was delicious: pane con tomate, gazpacho, potato salad with tuna, and some sort of magical green olives suffused with olive oil. Also, "burn" goat cheese cake. And I don't even like cheesecake. The service was as thoughtful as could be. The only negative: I don't live walking distance.Hola! Thank you for your visit, we are glad we were able to provide you with a great experience. Weâre happy to hear you enjoyed the food and service at La Barra. We are also pleased that you visited during the Gin and Tonic Festival and enjoyed the Ultimate Gin and Tonic. Nos vemos pronto! (See you soon!)

Early bird special was a pleasant surprise. Appetizer, salad and main course were fine. Chicken lemon francaise was so tender it cut with a fork. The paella was just as tasty. The bread was great also. The guava mango cheesecake was extra special. Service could not be better. The waiter was friendly, explained all dishes that we had questions about. Sazone is a nice restaurant of Latin fusion and worth the visit.

Great little place (about 12 tables) fair prices and hot food. Try the steak with onions seasoned perfectly and the potato ball. We dinned in but at lot of people were picking up take-out.

This place is a true gem. While they have the full assortment of the usual Mexican food, their specials are fabulous! I had the duck mole poblano. There are not enough adjectives to describe how delicious this was. We will return. The only downside is there is no bar area to speak of, so if you have to wait youâre just standing around.....but make the wait....itâs worth it
