Late night dinner & looking for something fairly light landed us at Abuelo's which turned out to be an excellent choice. We were staying nearby & scheduled for an early morning flight at Roanoke Airport. Went with their Tortilla soup & decided to share an order of nachos...smart move because the nacho platter was huge. Good atmosphere, attentive server & very fair prices added up to a great experience.

I tried this restaurant for lunch and they were doing a great business. I ordered a chicken and two ground beef enchiladas and refried beans. Other than the salsas the food just was not memorable. Maybe it was me. They must be doing something right or the crowds would not be there. I will try again.

We thought the tacos we had here were very good; updated contemporary flavor combinations with a twist. Our server, Katie, was a pro. She knew the menu, made helpful recommendations, was super attentive, and was as nice as can be. We were disappointed with the restaurant's website; the menu there was not consistent with what we were given at our table, and it did not list any of the beers available on tap. We were also disappointed with the reservation situation; when we arrived, the employee at the host stand informed us they don't take reservations for groups of four. She dismissed the fact that Chris Wade, the Cabo Operations Manager, has responded to our email reservation request for four people, "I’ll have your name written down at the host stand."Hey MikeThanks for the review and feedback. I am happy that you enjoyed your tacos and very disappointed that the hostess did not honor your request. We do not normally take reservations for smaller parties, but I was copied on that email and noticed that Chris confirmed it. I will definitely find out what happened and get to the bottom of it. So sorry for the confusion. I will let Chris know also. Hopefully you did not have to wait long and that you will not let this mistake stop you from visiting us again. Hope to see you soon. Thanks,Gary
