I drove 3 hours from Vilnius to Utena, Stelmuze, just to see the Stelmuze Oak tree. It is the oldest Oak in Lithuania and one of the oldest in Europe. I was over thrilled just to see it. The drive there was refreshing and lots of country raods and lovely sceneries, churches and history. When I got there the place was on lock, no offices opened. No one around, it was also snowing heavily. No washroom facilities were opened also. The tree looked dead without leave but it was winter so it was expected not to have leaves. It was propped up like an old person. I am really happy I got to see this tree in person. I will recommend a visit here. Forget how the tree looks but know you are looking at history with thus tree being centuries old.
