Redwood Highway

I recommend visiting a 'visitor's center' for the Redwood National Park to get an overview of the collection of land parcels that make up the Redwood National and State Parks so that you can appreciate what's left of the giant redwoods. Even along US Highway 101, there are easy on/off to enjoy glimpse of some great groves. Remember there is only 4% of the original forest left - hence the collection of small parcels, but still incredible.

Carson Mansion

The Ingomar Club is a private club that serves a dual mission of the restoration and preservation of the unique historical building and grounds of the Carson Mansion, while providing fine dining and social experiences for its members. No public tours. Virtual tours are available on our website.

Wow - it's hard to imagine the detail and craftmanship in this late 19th Century Victorian mansion. The gingerbread that adorns this house is intricate and detailed. Home to the private Ingomar Club, the mansion is a photo worthy stop if your are driving the 101 highway in Northern CA. The house is closed to the public, but having been inside myself, I can tell you that the detailed architecture does not stop at the front door...breathtaking interiors all the way to the 4th floor tower with it's stunning 360 degree views!

Old Town Eureka

Just two blocks from the highway, and right next to the beautiful humboldt bay and marina. there is a boardwalk, kayak rentals and boat tours, lots of great restaurants, shops and art galleries. Very cool and colorful architecture and LOTS of murals.
