Stopped by for good old fashioned fish and chips. Food was good and as I would expect from any local takeaway shop. All freshly cooked and good service. Obviously the locals use them which is always a good sign. A little out of the way.

Looked good and was until the food arrived. Bright, open style decor - well presented. Staff happy, friendly and helpful. Menu not very ambitious but typical. We each ordered different wood fired pizzas ( four in total) and were all disappointed both visually and the flavour ( there wasn't much!).

Great little fish and shop. Really enjoyed the crispy flake and chips from this great place. While your waiting pop around the corner to the great little grocers that stocked a great range of affordable wine,spirits and beer.across the road is a shell coles express. I also loved the 80 cent pickled onions for sale.

The restaurant has large, clean, light-filled airy spaces, but the hard surfaces ensure that the noise from festive season groups still celebrating the past festivities removes any possibility of having a quiet whispered conversation (or is this just a grumpy old man sad that he picked the wrong place to have an earnest discussion with his spouse about the next investment decision?). The welcome was friendly and prompt, and the delivery of menus and tea very efficient, but then there was a long wait before anyone appeared to take our order (suggesting a shortage of staff as they appeared to be run off their feet).The menu was adventurous and priced towards the high end of restaurants in Box Hill (most of which which tend to focus on the cheap and large quantities). We ordered food which was not generally available in suburban restaurants and which turned out to be well presented and very tasty. Once again, when we had finished, there was a long wait before we could attract attention of staff to request the bill - but that was partly compensated by the arrival of a complimentary fruit platter.The price was a little higher than the cheap and cheerful competitors, but was worth the cost. Next time, we will request a quiter table or come with a large group who will appreciate the quality and variety that Canton Lake offers,

One of our favourite places for good and reasonably price Cantonese style food. They used to have a fixed priced banquet crab noodles, mixed dishes dinner special but sadly no longer. Excellent service and consistently offers good value.
