Palembang (Indonesian pronunciation: [palɛmˈbaŋ]) is the second-largest city on Sumatra after Medan and the capital city of South Sumatra province of Indonesia. It is one of the oldest cities in the Malay Archipelago and Southeast Asia. Palembang is located on the Musi River banks on the east coast of southern Sumatra, with a land area of 369.22 square kilometres (142.56 square miles) and a population of 1,708,413 people (2014). Few parts of the exhibition hall were close for maintenance that day. It was OK to visit the rest of the museum. The great part was when we were around the Rumah Limas, one of the officer was there. He greeted us. He then invited us into the house. He mention that the house was closed for public for sometime. We were so lucky, even the locals that with me never able to enter the house before. Sadly some the figurine within the museum compound were broken and not well maintain. A typical Indonesian thing.
