It is located on the Markermeer, 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Amsterdam, and acquired city rights in 1357. Hoorn had a population of 72,707 in 2017. The area of the municipality is 53.25 km (20.56 sq mi) of which 33.00 km (12.74 sq mi) consists of water, mainly the Markermeer. In the beginning, we were not familiar with the system in which they use "all you can eat". You can choose the first course or second course and try whatever you like. best part we like was no rush and you chose the order. We could find an opportunity to drink a reserve vino test was so god with options with the menu. Chef and his wife were very friendly. The restaurant was well decorated and clean.

Mostly pros with slight and almost unnoticeable (though quite "acute") cons: location is a great plus - situated in a quiet alley with tables on the bank of scenic canal; service is good, waiters are nice and attentive (though you may get the feeling that they want you to go away as soon as you finish eating so they could have an empty table for another guests); food is delicious (one big flaw here - we were very surprised to find a sharp kitchen knife under the pizza crust... pretty scary); price is definitely acceptable. Overall - if you visit Hoorn, you can boldly go to Portofino (just check if there is nothing hidden under your food before you start eating).

This review is written in English.This was our first visit to this Italian restaurant in Hoorn that we, unfortunately, never spotted before. We tried so many times but in the last couple of years restaurants in this place got outside our focus because of average quality. Apart from the amazing winebar Vinck in Hoorn (really great!) we have now discovered a very good authentic Italian restaurant over there: Salento. This place offers a very nice atmosphere (tables are not too close!), it is well designed, and both staff and food are special. Believe it or not but this restaurant is one of the places that offers the best gambaâs. A bit pricy but delicious. The âbruschettaâsâ (frisellines) also tasted excellent. In our enthusiasm we also ordered frittini which are various fried snacks. That was too much and, to be honest, did not show the Italian cuisine that we like so much. The Tiramisu variant was a surprise to us and was perfect. We had good Italian wine from the Salento region. Staff is dedicated, knowledgeable and very friendly. The chef is a very cheerful and flamboyant guy. We appreciated his stories about Salento and the products that he imports from there. A very cheerful person and rightfully he is. This place is really good. It was our first visit but definitely not the last!Thank you very much. We will consider your recommendations and take them seriously

Gisteren iets besteld bij La Bottega del Gusto.Je kan bij de Bottega ook iets eten er staan een paar tafeltjes én het is een traiteur afhalen is ook mogelijk.We hadden de Pizza 4 Formaggi, erg lekker en een goede knapperige korst.Daarbij de Ravioli della Bottega met truffel, buffelmozarella, parmezaan, ricotta en aardappel. Het zijn vier grote ravioliâs die echt ontzettend lekker zijn.Bestellen en betalen gaat goed via de site en alles wordt snel én warm thuis bezorgd.Een aanwinst voor Hoorn!

Was er deze zomer al de prettige locatie van Slijs op het schelpenstrandje met kwalitatief zeer goede pizzaâs met ambachtelijk ijs, kan er nu ook besteld worden online met snelle e-Bike bezorging. Hulde aan de pizzabakkers/ijsverkopers Sydney en Joost.
