Visited for Saturday lunch. Although the restaurant only had about 5 tables, several waiters and a âhostessâ, service was glacial. Our starter plates and empty glasses remained on the table for 20 minutes before being cleared. We then ordered some wine which after 10 mins still had not arrived after which point we left. We could see the âhostessâ had been made aware of this but seemingly could care less. As for the food, the risotto was completely overcoooked into a mush. Awful.

We've had numerous Lunches and Dinners at Faber since Avondale 'gave birth' to this new venture. Chef Dale Stevens, has undeniably dethroned his predecessor. What a dynamic change - the food is beyond delectable - it's honest, simple and hugely flavoursome, with presentation that looks like original artworks. Very..........yes, very few Chefs in the Cape Winelands and Cape Town can knock you out with the way they do meat and fish - Chef Dale Stevens' touch will send anyone to heaven and back.........for more! Well done - the Restaurant has actually gotten a very welcoming atmosphere, with Kat, who is ever-so-divine and her Team of polite, smiling, efficient and professional waiters. The new Dessert on the Menu - Wow! they've transformed the 'suburban guava' with its 'crème fraiche ice-cream', into an orgasmic experience. Faber should be a must on everyone's bucket list. Oh,Yes! Not usually a wine-drinker - I delighted greatly in Avondale's new Limited Edition Qvevri - perfectly indulgent! Hopefully, next Season we'll see some Interior Refurbs and Artworks that will 'Pop' and transform Faber into more of a "Destination Experience'. We were just looking for breakfast and our driver took us to this place. We were a little apprehensive to start with but the whole setting of the tables, views and the friendly staff made the visit worthwhile. The food in itself was good but sitting there in the open with light breeze made us enjoy the meal much more than a traditional restaurant. their fries are not crisp, which was the only complaint but the whole experience was very memorable.

Lovely setting, cosy ambience, great service and delicious Austrian cuisine. Family run business â chef hubby doing a fabulous job in the kitchen, charming wife Clarissa serve and entertain customers and son Dominique making the Austrian Ravioli! Well done, this is becoming a favourite of ours!
