This was our first experience at Cloud 9. The first challenge is booking a table for the 2pm seating. We thought we knew exactly what to expect - a wild party with lots of champagne sprayed, great music and not so good food (that last part is indeed true for Aspen standards). We have heard about it, we have friends that did it, we have seen the videos. But nothing really prepares you for what happens when the first bottle pops. It is an amazing party, from the moment you enter the room and feel the place to the moment the music stops and the ski patrol asks if anyone needs help in getting down the mountain. The staff handles everything like real pros, including security. Yes, it is (very) expensive. But seeing the look on everyone’s faces and talking to people all around us, our impression was that everyone loved it, and would remember it for a long time. We did and will.

In the heart of Aspen, this quaint venue offers dining at street level or in a semi open basement environment. We chose the latter because of it's quirkiness. Vintage paraphernalia in abundance surrounds the tables and chairs. The kitchen was off to one side. Staff were professional and personable. Service was efficient. The menu was quite extensive with a mouthwatering selection of French classics. Certainly something for all tastes.Unfortunately we were only there for a light lunch so missed the opportunity to over indulge in more of the delights on offer.Prices were reasonable. We enjoyed our dining experience at this casual but sophisticated establishment and hope to visit it on many more occasions to enjoy fabulous food that promises quality, flavours and textures that are certain to delight the most fastidious "foodie".

We had breakfast at Mawa's Kitchen in May 2019 on a trip through the southwest of the USA. Mawa's Kitchen is a cozy little place which you enter through the kitchen, were friendly staff guides you through a menu of traditional and less traditional breakfasts which are freshly prepared on the spot. We had eggs benedict with ham and greens and hummus and spinach toast with some fresh juices and coffee. The breakfast dishes are delicious, freshly cooked with excellent ingredients, and the juices are simply marvellous. The portions were large. The coffee was very good (some of the best coffee we've had in the States). Not the cheapest place but you get excellent value.

$50 for 4 breakfast sandwiches. Counter person totally ignored the nuances of our order despite the high prices and even though place was empty I was served a barely toasted english muffin and half cooked bacon (i asked for crispy) and watery eggs. Disgusting.
