Very disappointing and expensive meal. Tasteless kingfish to begin. $16.50 for a plate of salty shoe string fries. Slider was ok. Lamb shanks were very bland. Garden salad was also salty. Once main plates were cleared I had to ask a waiter to clean the table of salad overspill. Poor value for $180/ couple

We had the pleasure of enjoying the Tokar Estate fine dining experience. A table of six indulged in the new Winter menu. All dishes served, the flavours were sublime and artfully presented. The meals were matched with superb wines particularly the Pinot Noir and the award winning 2016 Shiraz, Many bottles of which were taken away with us to enjoy at a later date. Excellent friendly service from all staff. Would definitely recommended Tokar Estate.Hi 376vickif,Thank you so much for taking the time to review our restaurant. We spent the weekend at Chateau yering, and whilst the gardens and rooms are very nice, albeit old, the dinner was a let down. To start off they were running late due to a wedding that afternoon, which the staff acknowledged and apologised for which was fine. There was a lot of sitting waiting for service all night. Having said that the staff were friendly. The food itself was not so good. We had oysters and sardines for entree. Both were ok. Mains we both had the Risotto. The burratta was cold which was a real shame. Our sides were undercooked as well. The best part of the night was the dessert which was delicious. We had the spiced pear and the cappuccino dish. Overall a disappointing night.

If you are taking a trip to the Yarra Valley area this is a wonderful hidden gem for coffee or genuine rustic French cuisine... from French onion soup, from age & charcuterie boards.. to Duck confit.. finished of with coffee and French pastries while sitting on the couch in front of the large open fire. Lovely food.. Great Staff .. Excellent ambiance...What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon... Recommend Highly

I have been to quite a few Nandos, and yes, they all serve the same menu. But somehow they just do it better at Lilydale. Must be something in the water.... I don't even bother to go to any other one now. I would rather give my hard earned cash to the people here who know how to do it right. All the staff are wonderful, especially 'K' (won't put her full name up) who is usually on the front counter. Wonderful lady, who knows how to do her job. Just excellent photo worthy food, delicious, excellent service. Extremely fast service. The owner should be proud of this great team! Amazing!!
