This was recommended by a local, and I can say it was worth the trip. We all ordered something different from the menu, and no one went away hungry. The decor was fun. Reminded me of a kitchen from the fifties. It did not take long for breakfast to come either. The biscuits and gravy were one of the best I have had outside of my grandmother's. Homemade bread and strawberry jam. The omelets were good size, and the pancakes were the same size as the plate. Will be back to visit again soon.

Carmen's Cafe

We live in the area and have gone to Carmen's almost since their beginning. We usually do breakfast, but enjoy lunch there, as well. If you like a heavier bread, try their Tree Bark. It is a favorite with my family for their toast. I usually order one of their daily specials .I've never been disappointed. Check their days and times. Sometimes they change during the winter months. Avoid busy times for breakfast and lunch. You may have to wait.

Lakeside Cafe

This cafe was a great spot for a good inexpensive breakfast prior to heading to the ferry. Being celiac I had no difficulty having a gluten free breakfast, even to my surprise with gluten free toast. So, for those departing or arriving on an early morning ferry I recommend stopping at Lakeside for breakfast.

IHOP

The food is really good, once you get it. There just seems to be a lack of organization. Everyone seems inexperienced, staff running into each other, running back and forth for one thing at a time and not enough computers to put orders in or cash guests out. To top it off the gentleman that appears to be a manager appears to do very little. They need some older and experienced people to come in and whip this place into what it could be which is more than it currently is.
