Breakfast and lunch

My girlfriend and I stopped in and had breakfast on Labor Day. Even though it was early (7:30 am) the place was already getting crowded. Thankfully that didn't stop the waitress from being efficient and giving us great service. The food was quite good; and reasonably priced. I had the special: eggs, hash browns, bacon and some of their delicious homemade bread. My only criticism is that the coffee was pretty bad. Guess I could have gone to one of the famous competitors nearby for that. Anyways, I will return the next time I want breakfast in Alamosa.

2. Crazy Corner Cafe

Off the radar, unassuming, and a block off the main drag in Alamosa, but don't be put off. This place was recommended by a local. My breakfast was very good (chorizo scramble) as was the coffee, and it didn't break my bank. They have traditional American and Mexican breakfasts. I will try a dinner soon and report back.

The lunch was good. Our group had may things from the menu. Everyone was completely satisfied. The burgers were large and made with fresh ingredients. The place was busy but the staff worked to keep up with the orders. Everything made fresh.

This is a new restaurant in the former Walsh Hotel. There isn't much of an atmosphere or decorations but it is clean, which is important. They specialize in burgers that they say is Angus beef. IMHO the burgers were good but nothing exceptional. There's a thin patty on a large bun. We got their Classic Burger because they had a special of the Classic Burger with a milk shake ($3.99) free. Now that milk shake is probably the best I ever tasted. It came in a huge mug with the widest straw ever, the better to slurp up the goodness. I probably will not go back for the burgers....but will for another milk shake.
