Small guest hose run by local family. 3 rooms. The owner offers free English lessons to the locals. Doctors from the local hospital, adults and their children. If you are happy to donate some time and help with the lessons he offers discounted room rates. Idyllic place, great food and drink. Chill out and relax.Thank you very much sir for your Donation to our school Project we will by more books for local kids at school on the Islands thanks million for you help wished you have a good luck good time and happiness big hope one day we will see you again in Our restaurantKhamla VONGSAWANG

Fasai is a great spot to chill out, take in the Mekong view and listen to the longboats rumble past all while you enjoy a meal. I had a basic Western breakfast which was exactly what I was looking for. The people that own the place are super nice and want to leave the best impression possible. Their smoothies are very tasty as well. Prices are fairly inexpensive on Don Khone and Fasai is no exception. They can also accommodate tours groups. It is located on the main road to the left of the main dock.

Surprisingly there are quite a few Indian restaurants in Laos -- and the food here is the best of the lot! Especially when you realise that it is basically one guy doing everything. One evening we were unable to eat there because he'd literally run out of food; but the next night we ordered in advance - I think this also helped him to organise his time (there can be a bit of a wait if others are there before you).We ate there twice, and variously had chicken tikka, dal fry, channa masala, baigan bharta (aubergine)., bread and pulau rice. All was fresh, very tasty, and just the right level of spiciness.The guy is very friendly - and works so hard! Sometimes he has a helper, but not always.

This place is a gem! The food is absolutely amazing, we've eaten here three nights in a row. Definitely try: pork with garlic and pepper, pumpkin burger and the fish and chips! The cocktails are also good, yet be aware the happy hour of "buy two get one free" means that you have to buy two and get the third one free. And the view is stunning.
