JamFactory

JamFactory is a unique not for profit cultural organisation supporting and promoting outstanding design and craftsmanship for over 40 years through its widely acclaimed studios, galleries and shops. JamFactory has facilities in the Adelaide CBD and in 2013, Seppeltsfield welcomed the opening of JamFactory to the Barossa estate - the first regional extension of JamFactory's Adelaide origins and new chapter to the region's art tourism offering. The contemporary craft & design studios, gallery and shop is located within the Seppeltsfield estate itself and is housed in an historic 1850s stables building, which has been extensively renovated whilst maintaining elements of original rural charm. JamFactory at Seppeltsfield provides a unique hub for craft and design in the Barossa. The facility provides studio space for professional artisans working in a variety of media including knife making, ceramics, millinery, glass and leather. A separated walkway through the building allows visitors to meet the makers and view there skills in action with public workshops available providing a hands on experience. The gallery presents a diverse program of curated exhibitions showcasing local, national and international work by leading artists, craftspeople and designers and the retail shop provides an extensive range of hand-crafted ceramics, furniture, glassware, jewellery and other collectables by leading Australia artists and designers.

Barossa Regional Gallery

Reviewed By charliem761 - Sydney, Australia

A little known gem in Basedow St Tanunda, between 11.30 and 12 every Wed for a mere $5 you get a guided tour of a beautifully restored Hill and Son pipe organ that is over 140 years old. While the organist plays you get to see the inner workings of this massive organ. At the end you are encouraged to play the organ yourself. Best half hour you will spend in the Barossa!
